Spiers & Pond began as wine merchants and restauranteurs in the mid to late 1800’s, and went onto build, amongst other things  the Criterion theatre in Londons Piccadilly Circus and a restaurant in the Gaiety Theatre in the Aldwych. They also owned several department stores too, and this is where this lovely antique wooden sign is believed to originate from. 
There appears to be some light restoration to the word 'floral', but it does appear historic.
