These oversized matchboxes were often seen as window and countertop display items in tabaconnists from the 1930's onwards.
These examples are all a little bit worn now as seen in the photos, and have loose end flaps where somebody has been a bit over zealous opening them. But they do still have a selection of their original matches inside too, to make up for it.
