These oversized matchboxes were often seen as window and countertop display items in tabaconnists from the 1930's onwards.
These examples are all a little bit worn as seen in the photos, and have loose end flaps where somebody has been a bit over zealous opening them in the past. But they have both been given a rather unique repair with old ribbon, so you can now open the and retrieve their oversized matches.
